By converting a garage and rumpus room, these homeowners have increased their home from three bedrooms to five and boosted their capital gains.

Previously, the garage and rumpus room under this Glenfield home was unkempt, damp and an almost unusable space. By engaging James to manage their basement conversion, these homeowners now have two bedrooms, one bathroom, a kitchenette and living area underneath their existing home. This gives them a total of five bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a kitchenette over the two floors, increasing the value of their property.

Upstairs the home was insulated and relined with new gib board, and the wooden joinery was replaced with brand new double glazed aluminium joinery. This has given the family a warmer, healthier environment to live in. A wall was removed to create a spacious open plan kitchen, dining and living area that flows seamlessly on to the deck. The renovated kitchen features a huge kitchen island with a beautiful walnut benchtop. The upstairs bathroom was also renovated.

Outside about half of the existing home was reclad with new weatherboards, with the basement level being reclad to match. We built a new boardwalk entrance, and a deck with a glass balustrade from the upstairs living room. We also gave the family more off street parking in the driveway by concreting over a previously unused grass area.
